Fused glass, is made when separate layers of glass are heated in a kiln until they melt and fuse together into a single piece. Each piece will be unique.
Glass fuses at around 804 degrees Centigrade. Different techniques make the glass react in different ways, creating certain effects, such as a Full Fuse, Tack Fuse and Slumping.
Working in a kiln requires many steps to ensure that the outcome is as expected. The glass requires a program/schedule to heat and cool at certain rates, as well as holding the glass for extended periods of time at different and precise temperatures.
Please note: this is a hand-made product, so no two pieces are identical. Photos may vary slightly from the product due to lighting. Small bubbles inside the glass are a normal decorative feature.
Two sizes are available, approx:
170mm x 170mm
230mm x 230mm
